What to expect

Korat Movie Festival brings the experience of Thai outdoor cinema to Bueng Hua Thale Floating Market for five days. The programme combines film screenings with activities about cinema culture, giving visitors more to explore than a single screening. Hua Thale Municipality and the Nakhon Ratchasima Outdoor Cinema Club introduced the festival together under the theme “The City of Cinema”.

The announced programme includes creative activities from TCDC Nakhon Ratchasima and entertainment involving the Halo Klang Plaeng team. Likay is also part of the bill: the launch reports name the Wor Tor Sima Nakhon, Phong Phet Benjaphon and Kluai Hom Banjong Sin troupes. The mix is intended to bring different generations together, with family activities alongside the films and performances.

For people who remember travelling outdoor cinemas, the appeal is the shared viewing experience; younger visitors can discover that tradition in a contemporary festival setting. Matichon and Banmuang both place the event at the floating market from 20 to 24 October. The festival uses the market as its venue, so choose the Bueng Hua Thale destination when planning your journey.
